Join us on this immersive workshop where ancient techniques and traditions meet creativity. Sand casting is a fascinating process that allows you to create unique metal jewellery using sand moulds. TELL ME MORE.... During this session, you will learn how to prepare sand moulds, pour molten metal, and finish your cast pieces with finesse. This method is perfect for those who appreciate the organic textures and one-of-a-kind designs that sand casting offers. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned jeweller, this workshop will enhance your skill set and inspire your creative journey. Join us to explore the timeless technique of sand casting and leave with your own handcrafted treasures. You will be provided with a set amount of silver, which would be enough for approximately 2 castings. There will be more silver available to purchase on the day if you need it. IS THIS CLASS RIGHT FOR ME?........ Whether you are a total beginner or a jeweller in training, this course is a great one. It is experimental and takes time to master the skills, so it will be filled with practice. Please be aware that you will be using molten silver, and pouring it into the mould, so a steady hand is essential! This class is for over 18's only WHAT SHOULD I BRING?........ A notebook is a good idea if you're keen to make more, as well as glasses if you need them. Please bring some lunch. No need to bring drinks unless you have something specific you enjoy. We will keep you topped up with tea, coffee, cordial and sweet treats throughout the day. THE IMPORTANT BIT...... Please ensure that long hair is tied back and that you do not wear floaty sleeves or open toe shoes. Your safety is our priority! This class runs from 10am-4pm, although the end time is approximate and may run over slightly Over 18's only Please note - We require a minimum attendance for this workshop to go ahead.
